Denna &Marion Allen Hart celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on August 16, 2002.  Their daughter from Seattle, Mary Ellen, and sons David &Jerry from Atlanta surprised them with an open house.

Wanda Krivanek Roach recently returned from Santa Rosa, CA where she visited with her newest grandson, Joseph, along with her other four grandkids.Sammie Followwill Garrett had surgery on December 16th for the removal of a growth on her thyroid.  Shes doing fine now.  In fact, Sammie &Jim are up north riding a snowmobile right now.

David attended Central State after graduation, and then joined the Marine Corps.  He married a couple of years later &now has 4 children and seven grandchildren.  They lived in Los Angeles for seven years, and since then, here in OKC.  They have restored several old houses and are now working on their fourth.  David is a commercial Interior Designer working with a firm that specializes in country clubs.

On December 22nd, my daughter had a beautiful little boy.  His name is Daniel and he has a brother, Brandon, who was born on December 23rd, just five years ago.  They also have an older brother, Steven, whos 15.  My son, Ron, has two boys so that makes five grandsons for me.

Marilyn McCorkle Luschen has had a busy year.   She was in California to certify her friend as an instructor in January, in Haiti for 8 days in February,  St. Louis in May, Miami in June, England in July for prayer team coverage and the Persian Gulf for 3 weeks in October.  WOW!

A new article about our favorite teachers

The tale of....
~Ms. Staley's Pet  &  The Mystery Rider~

Johnie Beth writes.....
Wait a minute, you guys!  I WAS MS. STALEY'S PET.  In other words, Ms. Staley had the capacity of a good teacher who made each of us kids feel special.  With no doubt - SHE was my favorite teacher!

Patt Jenkins writes.....
Thanks for all the Breakfast News.
Some things very interesting in this edition are...
a) learning that Fred Strickler is still around
b) being aware of how many 'pets' Ms. Staley had
c) learning about Mrs. Baker and that her granddaugher is now working at the new Library  d) was it Mrs. Henry who carpooled with Baker and Eckstein?

....and now for the answer to all........
Dr. Ed Berry writes.........

Dear Donna:  I just read the January 7th e-mail where Johnnie Beth wrote about car-pooling with Eva Mae Baker.  For several years, I picked up Mrs. Baker, Elizabeth Staley and Bertie Ann Hawthorn each day on the way to school.  I don’t believe I ever picked up Mrs. Eckstein however.  I am sorry I haven’t attended your Breakfasts.  It sounds like fun!!!  It’s a little far (and early) for me since I live in Edmond, but I will try to make one some time soon.  I really appreciate receiving your
e-mails.  I love you all.  ED BERRY

Dr. Berry ....thanks for solving the answer to the
mystery of who teachers rode with.
Now...would you happened to have heard the name of the
real 'teacher's pet' in Ms. Staley's class?
We seem to have some serious debate going on as to which
student owns the bragging rights to that issue!
That car had to have interesting conversations!

~My Favorite Teacher~

from Lowana Russell......
To Johnie Beth ~~ I can only develop BAD habits.....
I also was scared to death of Ms. Eckstein, but she made me the best typist, hands down, on every job interview I went on ... She never learned what my name really was though.
My very best favorite teacher was and still is Mr. Berry, I only wish I had kept my flute and kept up with playing.  I have forgotten everything by now; With Miss Gill coming in a close second even though I was never very good at shorthand she kept on trying and trying.  I also liked Ms. Staley very much, but I think she gave up on me as a lost cause in English class.  I could always spell, but never learned to diagram a sentence and the trick she told me about standing in front of a mirror while trying to memorize, as you all can see, still gives me trouble, since I can't seem to remember when First Saturday is until it is too late!
~~~
an email from Charey & Darlene (Gurskey) Westbrook....
Received an email from Charley Wesbrook requesting a phone number for the Bob Nix Family.  He has said their email address could be added onto our class base - so they will be receiving our newsletters and notes from one another now.  Charley says he has retired - but does interim pastoring - so they are hopeful with more free time they might make a reunion one year.
We'll all look forward to that.
from Johnie Beth....
I don't remember any one having any challenges except me - the shortest kid in the class - still am!!!  Don't feel bad Tony, I always "looked up" to you.
